On Being Unprovokable

Awhile back I was listening to some “Shift Vision 2020” segments and Shelly Covert bluemeditation.jpg(https://www.shellycovert.net/ ), Native American liaison and activist, was speaking on the state of the world in general. She said that she is usually unprovokable, but lately she was having trouble not reacting to everything she was seeing and hearing happening in her world—meaning in OUR world.

She said, “Trump is the reality check for our time period. You think you are an evolved, compassionate and loving human being?  Then how do you handle the daily insanity coming from the White House when it seems to be destroying every good aspect of our lives?

“Can you witness this without judgment? Can you evoke good intentions toward him and those around him when what you are actually feeling is rage and more homicidal tendencies? How can you stay centered in such a chaotic, daily environment?”

To me her simple statement and those following questions were uncannily accurate because I had felt that very thing that same morning after hearing the latest news show. I also was battling with myself NOT to react to what I had been witnessing on the news, when it filled me with such instant furor.

With some audible frustration in her voice, she said that for our own personal sanity and our sense of inner peace, we have to connect back into the larger energy matrix and get back into alliance with it to smooth out the ragged surface connections we are experiencing at present. We need to re-harmonize those disharmonious vibrations threatening our sense of inner peace and compassion for images.jpgothers.

To do this we have to extend our energetic connections beyond the dissonant surface matrix—to reach outward toward the true Source of ALL where Divine Love and Compassion reside—to go beyond the lunacy of this superficial existence to where Source itself, in all Its Divine Peacefulness, originates.

When we can connect back into our true energetic Source of life itself, then all personal disharmony vanishes, because Divine Source is far too powerful to be innerpeace6.jpgdisrupted by any minor surface static.

She said to be at peace, we must reach for the essence of peace itself and realign ourselves with that. I agree completely.

But I think it’s safe to say that being unprovokable is hard for even the most dedicated pacifists and meditators.

During the 1930’s-40’s, the Indian activist Mahatma Gandhi demonstrated what it really takes to shift power from governing oppressors back to the people of the land: It takes non-violent civil disobedience. Martin Luther King Jr. and many in the Civil Rights struggles of the 1960’s and 70’s (through the present) lived Gandhi’s example on bridges and in indomitablewill4.jpglunchrooms, on buses and in public gatherings around the nation—all with the intention of using the ability to remain unprovokable as an indelible mark in justice for all, and to revive incorruptibility in the American system of government.

I doubt that I personally will ever be unprovokable. I try. I do pull myself back when I feel like throwing things at the television, and simply remember that I’m the only one who controls ME, …so do it.

A little unsolicited advice for those who DO react to every daily, televised horror: Don’t let yourself be provoked or angered. Do something positive instead. Make a difference in some way—but make a positive difference. Shift the energy around you higher, not lower.

In battles with provokers, you only lose when you can be goaded into reacting to them.

So don’t be. Get smart—get organized—and get going. bethechange.jpgIf you want positive change—then make positive change happen.

And please start today!

“Systemic Shifts Are Underway”

Systems are a series of logical dependent processes that exist for a purpose with a circsytembeginning point and a desired end result.

Our circulatory system, for example, exists to supply the body’s mass with blood that fuels it.

Our digestive system exists to process the body’s intake of food sources into usable nutrients that then supply energy to power the human vehicle.

Systems are those linked processes that have a reason to function, and hopefully do so with efficiency and success.cogs and people.jpg

So when a systemic shift is underway that means that an established system of some sort is undergoing a change in operational process or a change of intended outcome.

When that operational process is the government of the United States and someone on the news who is experienced and knowledgeable in this respect declares that “systemic changes are underway in the government of the United States,” I pay attention.

systemicchange poster.jpg

Shifts in this respect can mean in attitude, in focus, or in operation—how governing of the nation and her people is regarded and executed.

We actually do have a document that already defines this “governing system”. It is called the United States Constitution. To change that document would take some serious legislation and congressional agreement on what congress felt needed to change and why.

But to dilute the existing laws in affect or to dissuade the judicial branch from upholding the US constitutional laws, is a much easier task to achieve. Those, I believe, are the shifts that are occurring—ones in attitude and congressional oversight.

After enduring almost one year of Trump’s government deconstruction attempts and boiling frog.pngpathological lying, we are sitting here like near-boiling frogs in our ever-heating pot. At first the slow-heating water starts out kind of warm, but not too uncomfortable, and then it just keeps getting hotter and hotter until we feel so relaxed and zapped of energy, that we can’t jump out of the pot to save ourselves.

Those are the systemic shifts underway that self-interested congress men and women are allowing to slow-cook all of us. Yes, we do have laws in place to stop despots from taking over our government.  But we don’t have laws in place to make members of congress and the justice department enforce those laws if they have no sense of duty and moral integrity to make sure that it doesn’t happen.

When our government can be bought by rich autocrats, then there is no democracy—no true Republic “for which we stand, one Nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”

There is only autocratic rule with multi-dollar dispersion to the loyal followers.

As 2018 looms on the near horizon, we the people of America have a choice of continuing boiledfroggyto float about in our ever-heating pot, or to say “I better get out of this pot while I can and turn off that burner.”

It’s now time to turn off the burner, folks. Time to take a stand. Time to make your voices known that you refuse to be boiled alive without a fight.

It’s time to stand up and speak out while you still have the right to free speech. Don’t assume that freedom is always going to be there for you if you don’t defend it while it is under attack by the despot’s propaganda machine.

If you can’t be bought, you need to run for government offices nationwide—local, state, and federal.

Make that your resolution for the year ahead:yates.jpg

I stand up for the constitution of the United States of America, and I oppose those who try to destroy it.

And hopefully that resolution effort lasts longer than most diets do.

We Are What We Think

whatwethink.jpg

Saw a great image on Facebook this morning, and it reminded me to clear my mind of those less-than-desirable thoughts over our present political situations, including the latest presidential chicanery.

I need to keep those negative suggestions for remediating the overall situation out of my head now and always. They are not helpful to me or to the state of our nation as it struggles to recognize the constitutional threat so blatantly declaring dictatorial powers over freedom of press, judicial branches, and foreign policy.

So what is helpful in that regard?

That’s a really good question.truthred.jpg

  • I think TRUTH would be extremely helpful to the overall situation—if we could be certain what that TRUTH actually was.
  • I think being aware of how easily some people allow themselves to be manipulated by others, would be helpful to them, but then they would also have to be willing to NOT be so easily manipulated the next time. That takes remedial work.
  • I think training people to think independently of public opinion in general and use critical analysis skills to assess situations that actually affect them, would be very effective to determining that truth. But people would have to want to think for themselves—and not everyone does.

That’s probably the hardest aspect for me to understand. Blindly believing a pathological liar and the news network that promotes his propagandistic tripe, is NOT helpful (and is almost beyond my capability to comprehend why that is happening), but then THAT is why I need to clear my mind, because as the image above reminds me, “with our thoughts, we make the world.”

And the world engulfing us at present—the one that I’m trying so hard not to have negative thoughts about, is the world in which we live.

But it is NOT the world I wish to manifest for myself or “make” with my thoughts, nor is it the world I want to call MY creation.

So what should I be thinking?

  • We need broad-based discussion on constitutional rights and liberties.
  • We need social media groups to declare secure information zones for TRUTH and FAIRNESS in advertising.
  • We need to get Big-Money out of the political process—all aspects of it. Even net neutrality is under assault by Big-Money interests as led by the White House.
  • We need congressional protection for consumer-protection groups.
  • We need people who are actually willing to stand up to power and say “NO! Not on my watch!” We don’t need congress members who instead cater to their well-endowed donor list, because if you can be bought—you shouldn’t be in congress.

usconstitutionThe world I wish to manifest is a fair and equitable place with equal opportunity for everyone, just as our United States constitution demands.  Oh wait, …that means there is already a legally binding document in place to provide lawful actions and treatment for all citizens?

Maybe we just need some folks with the courage to enforce it.

So what I should be thinking is that we DO have those people right here, right now who are enforcing our US Constitution and protecting all of our rights as US citizens and who are removing threats to our nation and to our liberties.

In other words: Go Mueller!

But please do it soon to help create our better world. It’s hard to hold a higher state of mind in the present one.

The Anomaly

“An anomaly,” he said. “He’s just an anomaly.”

The speaker was a Gold-Star father, Kazir Khan, the setting was the Morning Joe show, and of course the subject matter was the Presidency.K Khan.jpg

Khan had an interesting take on it all, and one that was well-considered and even generous pertaining to Trump’s mental instability and disrupt-ability.

An anomaly? I thought.  Where have I heard that referenced in a similar context, if only fictional?

Yes, it was in Asimov’s Foundation series from long ago. If memory serves me correctly, it was the politically powerful, galactic ruler who fooled the established psychological pre-screening profiles (called psychohistory) for acceptable governing. They called him “The Mule.”

(Geeze, …now I have to look all this up to be sure my memory holds true.)

Ok, here it is:

Foundation_and_empire_cover.jpg“The Mule is a fictional character from Isaac Asimov’s Foundation series. One of the greatest conquerors the galaxy has ever seen, he is a mentalic who has the ability to reach into the minds of others and “adjust” their emotions, individually or en masse, using this capability to conscript individuals to his cause.” Mule (Foundation) – Wikipedia

In keeping with the Foundation series being based on the Roman Empire, the Mule has historical parallels with Attila the Hun, Tamerlane, and Charlemagne; he has also been compared to the Roman Emperor Augustus, Adolf Hitler, Stalin and several other absolute tyrants of recent history.” Mule (Foundation) – Wikipedia

“…the mutant Mule […] is not given a personality (in Asimov’s Foundation series)he is merely a powerful anomaly” Colin Manlove

***

Yes. The Mule was the anomaly that psychohistory could not predict, which occasionally happens in real life. Look at last year.

Do I think Asimov’s character the Mule is what Khan was referencing?

No. I think he was just trying to explain a situation that defies logic in a democratic society that seemingly now risks losing its bearings.

“I’ve lived under Marshall law two times,” Khan, a former Pakistani, explained.  “This democracy—this American constitution that guarantees our rights and liberties is solid and stable. An anomaly such as Mr. Trump can disrupt it, but not destroy it.”

So for those of us who are sick of what constitutes for “the news” these days, Khan’s thoughts are actually more positive than expected, or in essence we might otherwise recognize them as:

“This too shall pass.”passing.jpg

But not nearly fast enough.

IGNORANT–and PROUD of It

ignor cap.jpg

I was truly hoping to find an actual T-shirt with that slogan on it, but I guess the cap (how appropriate is this?) will have to do.

Day after day I listen to the rantings of a narcissistic, pathological lunatic on national television–spouting one lie after another–even lies that lie about lying, and I wonder what on earth is going on in the heads of at least a third of the populace out there who still support him.

I finally decided there wasn’t anything I could even comment on here so I’ll just fill the rest of the post with the comments of others.

(Deep Sigh)

Gosh, sometimes I hardly know where to start.

So much of what could be said about this life experience that we share, I’ve either already said or it’s better left unsaid.

So much of what we see around us doesn’t necessarily reflect what we hear on the news or see as the focus of our congressional legislators who are elected to represent us and our best interests, not their own personal, political benefits for financial prosperity.

It seems that so many of the world’s existing problems have far more to do with fulfilling the self-interest of a few powerful people rather than making the world a better place to live for everyone.

Sometimes I look out the west windows of my home surrounded by farmland fields and watch the beauty of my natural surroundings change day by day…from snowy whiteness, to freshly budding green grass or new crops, to full-leafed trees and plants, to autumn colors with harvested acres of goldness quickly fading to brown, to the returning first snowflakes of the next winter, and I think we’re missing something about this world. We’re missing our direct connection to the naturally changing processes of life.Seasons-Change.jpg

I’m a part of that world out there—just as we all are. We are an integral part of the natural process of life evolving in multiple forms.

Days come and go—as do we the living beings who witness them doing it.

Our lives change day by day, as do our children’s lives, and their children’s lives; and throughout that daily procession we hope that someway—somehow we can positively impact the world that they live in so that they in turn, have the opportunity to make life better in some way for those who follow after them. We hope and pray daily that there will be a CONTINUANCE to humanity and the best traits of people.

But where I presently stand (or pace with frustration), I’m feeling a sense of limitation—of fast-fading delusions melting away into a harsh reality that states the seriousness of the actual situation our world is in, as we hear the alarm bells marking the limited time that we have to resolve those major issues of avoiding mass annihilation looming over our heads like low-hanging storm clouds ready to burst upon us.

What can I do? I ask myself.  What can WE do? Is there a genuine solution here or is our self-extermination inevitable?

Honestly, I really don’t know. When you have two lunatics playing “mine’s bigger than idot nuclear.jpgyours” with nuclear weapons and mass populations, who knows how this will end.

So, …. I guess that’s what we face day by day, the continued uncertainty of self-interested people in positions of power who are seemingly unchecked by the masses who allow them to remain in those positions until they eliminate all of us.

What could possibly go wrong with that scenario?

(Deep sigh.)

Eclipsing Cultural Archetypes

I knew the transcending archetypes theme would be a multi-part war aech.jpgexploration because the overview intention is to cover how we as a species are actually transcending the great collective warrior archetype—being constantly at war with ourselves and everyone around us.

But before we can examine species transcendence, we have to address our cultural and societal archetypes that presently prevent our future transcendence into a more sage-like existence where wisdom is more appreciated than force or power.

eclipseHere, midst the lunar and solar eclipse season in the USA, it’s not hard to see darkening shadows moving across our society’s sun. The latest insanity involves once latent and now rampantly exposed racism and bigotry across our nation, primarily led by the election of a self-proclaimed change agent “the likes the world has never seen before,” or so he claims.

Actually I’m pretty sure the world has seen a change agent like this before. About 1933 or so, the world took notice of hatred’s rising star at that time in Germany. So, if this hit8.jpgpresident were truly a student of history, which he isn’t—not even the Cliff’s Notes version, he would know that he isn’t unique. He’s just rehashed and reheated fascism at its worst.

What the Donald doesn’t realize is that the rest of us who DO know history know Hitler’s story in its entirety, and how it progressed into authoritarian madness for the world and all the people in his march of destruction.

How this could happen in our nation, is the same question that I’m sure many sensible and intelligent Germans asked themselves at the time of Hitler’s rise to power. What perfect societal storm made the conditions ripe for a narcissistic sociopath to come to the forefront, other than he knew how to successfully con people into believing in what he was selling because he’d done it all his life? That, and his backers (in this country and questionable others) threw all their billions behind destroying the opposition before him.

So here we are left with the aftermath of bad electoral decisions and their resonating, worldwide consequences.

kid w glasses.jpegHowever, what happened over the last week since the lunar eclipse, until the present with the solar eclipse diagonally crossing the entire nation today, has shifted the nation’s collective attitude and perspective so radically into resisting the hatred and bigotry espoused by the president and his minions of white nationalism, that it was like whiplash to the rest of us watching it happen.

City by city, for every white nationalist rally across the country, the countering peace/resistance rallies absolutely engulfed them. After the first skirmish in Charlottesville, VA, where the president spouted his support for the “free-speechers” of the alt-right at a press conference, then BOOM—the country and even Republican law-makers fought back to say, “Not on my streets!!!—Not in MY country!!!”race riot.jpg

I’m pretty sure this reverberating fallout from showing his true colors on national television isn’t over yet. And actually I was almost surprised that only Bannon got the boot so far when I’m nearly certain Amendment 25 was on the Security Council’s minds, if not lips, at Friday’s session at Camp David. I mean, isn’t that why Mike Pence was called back from South America? That’s what I would assume would be serious enough to make him cut his trip short. National Security can also mean eliminating internal threats to the country and people, which is what he most represents now.

We’ll see I guess. Once the successful businessman façade is completely torn away and the man’s character is exposed in its absolute moral bankruptcy, then there will be little left for even his most devoted followers to exalt.

So one major archetype is under close scrutiny and eventual trump whitetransformation right now—the archetype of a strong leader must be more closely examined to reveal what actually defines leadership for the future of civilization in general.

Pretty sure the present example lumbering over the ‘White House’ golf course in Jersey isn’t it.
