Eckhart Tolle on “The Dark Night of the Soul” Experience

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9mpybTfz6rU

tollemictalk.jpgIn this short video, the questioner asks about his personal experience with ‘the dark night of the soul’ (which I thought was the most powerful part of this video and the main reason that I listed it here) and his sudden spiritual awakening because of that complete reality break.

The questioner then asks Eckhart about that ‘merging into Allness’ experience that he was suddenly immersed in where he lost his sense of identity and watched himself and his thoughts as they arose, as though they were separate from him.  Eckhart briefly mentions his own DNOS experience and then comments on the aspect of mind expansion into Allness and total awareness.

Eckhart then comments with a well-used quote on the nature of awareness itself: “The Tao that can be spoken of is not the true Tao.”

Awareness is indescribable, incomprehensible.  We experience only minute portions of the pool of total awareness.  Our personal comprehension of awareness pertains mainly to sensing our own life experience—how we perceive the world around us and ourselves in relationship to that world and to all the aspects of it, living and non.mysssarknightquote653

The thoughts we have about our personal experience are only our ego trying to make sense of its existence within the matrix portion of awareness that our human sense-making organ (our individual mind) can comprehend.  When we surpass our personal boundaries and tap into the Greater Awareness, we no longer THINK—we simply observe and ride the flow wherever it goes.  We don’t compare experiences for goodness or badness. We simply observe them as they arise.

We input without judgment or expectation or anticipation or attempts to define anything.

It can be an amazing experience of peacefulness and lovingness.  And it can also make you feel like you are losing it completely.spiritawaken67

So I like to temper my descriptions of the spiritual awakening or the Kundalini awakening experience with bits of how disruptive it can also be to your normal daily affairs and relationships.  If you listen to Eckhart, it took him years to come back to our mutual-consensus reality, and even then it was never fully back to the life that he once knew.  He was forever changed—for the better maybe, but let me tell you from my own experience, getting to that BETTER may not be an easy slog.

So be careful with your own spiritual awakening practices. Make sure you have a support team around to help you back from your space launch so you don’t burn up in the atmosphere on reentry.  Yes, some ‘dark nights of the soul’ (if they don’t kill you) can lead to kundalini awakening and reunion with the Oneness and Allness from which we emerged. But they can also be grueling, gauntlet-running, sanity-testing, limits-of-your-endurance experiences that are handled best if not faced alone.  ramdassdark night.jpg

I think in today’s world the hazards of sudden spiritual awakening are more broadly understood than a few decades ago, but there are few who have not personally experienced it for themselves who will ever relate to how bad it can get before it gets better. So if you are going through your own ‘dark night of the soul,’ look for others who can best help you through it.

That’s why I’m writing about it now.

You Are Not Alone

Quote from: Psychic Medium Savonn Champelle

“It is during the darkest moments in our lives that the light shines the brightest and it lets us know that it always was, always is and always will be there. All we needed to do is connect to it, tap into it and led it guide us. Many times during those ‘dark’ moments we can feel abandoned by Spirit or let down because we feel savonnangel.jpgsomething is happening to us, when in reality something is actually being ‘Birthed’ through us and a powerful healing and transformation is taking place ❤ When going through hard times, or ‘dark’ times in your life call out to the Light within you, Call out to your Angels and simply ask what is the healing and transformation that is wanting to happen through me? What is this situation here showing me? Ask them to surround you and lift you up, for you are never alone. Angels are the silent whisper that are often heard moments after asking them your question ❤ You are not alone ”

Seeing Savonn’s sentiments on Facebook this morning, it was an important reminder that this time in which we all are traversing is a tough one for many. Many are facing their own version of “dark night of the soul,” and that is not a pleasant place to visit or linger in for long.

Many have lost loved ones over the past year or two and are still stinging from the pain and emptiness in parts of their lives.

Many are feeling disconnected from life in general and feeling isolated from people that they were once close to and relied upon for support and friendship.

Others are feeling a gnawing in their gut that some part of their lives is dissolving away to nothing and the void left behind will be too overwhelming to accept.

All I can say to you who are feeling these very things is to repeat what Savonn said at the end of his comment. “You are not alone.”  Yes, the Angels are there for all of us, but more than that—we are there for each other as well.

You might feel like you are very alone, but you aren’t—we’re all here.  We’ve all been where you presently stand or sit or lie or wallow or crawl, or curl up into a ball in the corner of the room. We’ve been there also.

I know that I have been, and I know from the story Savonn has told in the past that he also has been there. I don’t know what worked for him, but for myself, I told myself all sorts of things to keep pushing through the darkness back toward the light—like trudging down the dark train tunnel  where you can lighttunnel35.jpgonly see a faint hint of daylight at the end and hope like hell it isn’t the train itself.

Well, it isn’t the train.  It truly is the light. And if you just keep holding on and hanging in there—no matter how trite that sounds—that is exactly what you have to do to get through the tough times in life.

The greatest gift I ever received was the knowledge that no matter what happened to me, I could handle it.  I could get though it—someway—somehow.  I could endure it—I WOULD endure it!   And I did.

I think that is often the purpose of many ‘dark nights of the soul’—to show us what we are really made of—to show us our resilience and our determination to rise after falling—to lift ourselves off the floor when others aren’t there to assist us.  We must learn to do it for ourselves.

And in the process of picking ourselves back up, we realize that we rise stronger than we were before and wiser in many respects because we’ve dropped our delusions about our self-importance and jettisoned our assumptions/expectations for others in our life.timesaretoughyoucan do it

We learn quickly that the only person you can ever truly rely on is yourself—and that is how it must be because no matter how much any other person wants to help you—they simply can’t.  It is something only you can do for yourself.

So know now that no matter how difficult your present situation is, you are gaining great personal knowledge from it. You are testing your own metal in unimaginable ways that will make you stronger, wiser, more compassionate toward others, and far more humble than you ever believed that you could become.

The worth of a life is not measured by the quantity of the days it holds, or the material items it accumulates.  True soul-worth is gauged by the self-knowledge and wisdom gained during the process of living. That’s what you are doing at present—you are gaining hard-won knowledge and higher wisdom on your life journey.

Live with courage, my friends—live with the integrity to be who you truly are as loving individuals—and live with the determination to be the very best YOU that it is possible to be, because that is the ONLY way you can live.  notalone78.jpg

The TAO (the Dao)

“Tao in the world is like a river flowing home to the sea.”
~Lao Tzu, Tao Te Ching~thetaoqquote5.jpg

“Tao or Dao: 道 is a Chinese word meaning ‘way’, ‘path’, ‘route’… ‘Tao signifies the primordial essence or fundamental nature of the Universe. Tao is not a ‘name’ for a ‘thing’ but the underlying natural order of the Universe. It is thus ‘eternally nameless’ and to be distinguished from the countless ‘named’ things which are considered to be its manifestations.”    (posted on Ecological Consciousness)

I love Lao Tzu and Tao Te Ching quotes—they just feel good to me—like TRUTH feels when it resonates inside me.

Can’t say I am very learned in The Tao or Taoism, but I can say that what little I know, moontao5.jpgagain, feels more like a natural expression of myself in some way.

The Yin-Yang symbol (called the Taiji) is often used to represent the concept of the Tao—the in and out, the give and take, etc., often even representing the seeming polarity of the masculine or feminine principles.  But rather than as opposing forces, the pairings are meant to represent the complementary forces required to signify the wholeness or unity even in apparent duality—just as salt and pepper are simply condiments meant to enhance flavor, while still being distinct in their own attributes and coloring.taoquote67

I knew I could do an entire post with nothing but Lao Tzu or Tao Te Ching quotes because these abound everywhere and they still seem applicable to our present life.

The Tao Te Ching is a Chinese classic text traditionally credited to the 6th-century BC sage Laozi, or presently known as Lao Tzu. That’s a long time for catchy phrases to be hanging around and still be considered as ancient wisdom.

Even simple ones still have tremendous depth of meaning:

quotTao_Te_Ching_Ch_11.jpg

Wow…that one hit me in numerous ways—the positive and negative space references—the substance and emptiness aspects. The “It’s all in how you fill the emptiness” aspect that can be so significant to the vessel’s importance—just ask any psychologist the truth of that statement.

There is so much potential in that one simple quote.

Then there is one quote more applicable to what I normally write about on self-transformation:taoquote63

So while I may not know much about Taoism other than I really like the quotes of Lao Tzu, in some ways I feel that I really do know the TAO—which is the essence of the universe that expresses itself through us in unique and powerful ways, because that’s the part of my life that I like the best.

On Creating Your Reality

I really hadn’t planned to write today but when I listened to this interview with Wendy Kennedy from yesterday’s “Beyond the Ordinary Show” (April 3, 2018), I realized that wendykennedy4.pngshe was eloquently elaborating on what I have been saying in this blog about ‘creating the reality you desire by holding the energy frequency that makes it possible for that reality to exist.’ To get the message directly, use the link I provide, but otherwise I’ve paraphrased below as she spoke. (And yes, much of this is channeled info—just saying, if that bothers you. But channeled or not, it felt like TRUTH to me.)

https://www.beyondtheordinaryshow.com/replays/?inf_contact_key=8874ac10566758a7743475da9173ed503f445e7d6e05e4e054555eb4ef208abe

“Your reality is based on your belief systems. And you place yourself on a NOW moment that is aligned in that.  If you change your frequency, you change to different versions of your reality—so your reality is all of your own making.

It’s about you—not other people. It’s about what YOU are doing that creates your reality, not what others are doing. Put yourself back into personal power and build for yourself what you want to see in your life. You are NO ONE’s victim. Stand in your own power. Build it—but be inclusive—build your own reality—the reality you wish to live in.

WendyKennedyS14-main-graphic-1024x1024.pngYou aren’t separate from others and yet you are not dependent upon them for your Spirit growth, or for the reality that you create.

Work on your state of BEING. Consciously and intently, work on your state of BEING. Live in love, not fear. Live with the highest intention for goodness and light. BE that person you wish existed all around you. BE the love, BE the light. Hold that frequency you desire to create the reality that you wish to live.

You are inherently safe. But what you believe about your present reality is what attracts the things to you that you fear. What you truly believe about yourself and the world around you is what you attract to you.

This is a continuing process. This is not a one-time effort. Every day and throughout the day, you consciously bring yourself into that higher frequency of Divine Light and Love, and HOLD that frequency as long as possible. Then later in the day, do it again; then later, do it again.  Day after day throughout the day you keep doing this—keep raising and holding that higher frequency. You keep releasing your old limiting beliefs, now allowing yourself to feel your Oneness with everything and everyone.

Let go of the old. Dream a NEW dream. It is time for NEW dreams. Vision the New dream. Feel the NEW dream within you. What would it feel like to live this NEW experience? How does it feel inside to be safe and secure, to be loved and aligned with Spirit’s highest intentions? THAT is the emotional energy you hold in your consciousness to call that more desirable reality to you.thinkingfeelingreality.jpg

To create the NEW dream, you have to not only envision that future reality, but you have to feel the emotions of it as well—you must feel the joy of living it. Your emotional energies (these are the frequencies that your body generates) are what substantiate the reality that you call to you. …

Watch your attachment to the ‘form’ of how you think something should materialize for you. Instead, watch for the energy frequency that comes to you that matches the frequency of what you wanted—don’t be as concerned with the manifestation ‘packaging’ as to what is IN the package. Don’t discount the content because it didn’t come in the package that you expected it to arrive in.  caycerealitythought

Get quiet to recognize the frequencies that are around you and that you attract. You have to be able to read subtle frequencies, and you can’t do that when you are madly interacting with your environment.

Stop. Get quiet. And FEEL what is happening around you. Be ready to receive what you had requested, but be ready to receive something other than what you might have envisioned for yourself. Don’t look for the matching form of your desired reality—look/feel for the matching frequencies of that reality to know whether what you have requested has arrived. …”

Personally, I (RAH) thought this interview was worth hearing and only wanted to share the opportunity to do so with you.

It’s All in the Process

rainonbuddhaequally.jpg

While this posting could be on analyzing the importance of life’s journey vs. destination, it is actually more so about the importance of bringing awareness to how karma eventually unfolds for all, even when we doubt that it will.

When I saw this “raining on Buddha head” graphic I realized that I’m holding a concerned anxiety over the integrity of certain processes that are currently underway: processes like the democratic process, like the judicial process, like the equal law enforcement process for both rich and poor.

And while part of me—the shadow part that has NO patiencefears corruption at the highest levels of government will undermine our slowly creaking wheels of justice; another part of mewheelsofjustice.jpg recognizes that those wheels must keep turning on their own until all the cogs fall into proper place and the clock strikes the proper hour for judgment to be rendered. I might not be happy with the speed of justice, but the process is underway.

Justice is an ongoing process, although an often fairly slow one.

I’ve personally seen a similar slow-process-leads-to-eventual-resolution situation on a much smaller scale where those once in power positions were eventually toppled. However, it took far more time and hand-wringing by all involved than I would have believed possible for it to happen, but in fact, it DID happen. It is to that example of “the once powerful shall fall” that I keep reminding myself when I now want to shout at the television and pound my fist on my chair arm in frustration.

“His time will come,” I warn the uncaring images on the TV screen. “Justice will prevail. Democracy and our United States Constitution will hold solid and will right itself from this temporary tarnished upheaval.”  However, the television screen isn’t so easily convinced.

I truly hope it turns out that way—that justice does prevail and the guilty are punished. But pertaining specifically to the graphic statement above, no matter the pending justice dalailamakindnessor lack thereof in the current political mess, I had to ask myself in all honesty: “Where is my kindness in this situation?  Where is my kindness to all participants in this mock political drama?”

The only answer I had was that I’m not sure where it is, but I sure know where it isn’t.

So how do I address my inability to feel love and compassion to those demonstrating such blatant self-serving stupidity and such flagrant attempts at self-preservation at the expense of damaging the foundations of our democratic system of government? How do I feel compassion and show kindness (or even express kindness) to them?

First of all, I’m not Buddhist. I’m not anything other than me. I don’t follow any religion’s doctrines and dogma. But I am an energy worker, and from a pragmatic perspective, as an energy worker I know how important holding your personal frequency as high as possible is for all positive experiences around you to materialize.  The frequencies that you hold, are what you attract to you.lovecompassiondl.jpg

I know that holding kindness frequency—the love and compassion frequencies—are key to holding the space from which the best possible outcomes can emerge. You don’t get a lot of resultant positives from holding the low-frequency emotions of fear and anger—love and the highest frequencies of compassion and joy manifest those positive outcomes in our lives.

And yet in honesty, love and compassion really aren’t what I’m feeling over the present situation. How do I shift that energy in myself?

The non-rational, emotional part of me says, “I don’t. I feel what I feel. I have a right to be angry and anxious. It’s a genuine feeling.”  That may be true enough. Of course I can easily fret and fume and stew in my own negativity. But it’s pretty nasty energy, and it only ferments more anger and hatred in my mind and my life.

But the rational, practical energy-worker part of me says, “Don’t shoot myself in the foot over this slow-moving process. The compassionate stance may not be what I am feeling at present, but if I can shift my own perspective to the over-view of this energetic interaction—if enough of us can simply help to hold the highest possible frequencies of einsteinenergyfreq.jpgDivine Love and Divine Light for all of us in this mess, then the situation will resolve itself in the most harmonious way because disharmony naturally flows toward harmonious stability; like water, due to the force of gravity, flows to its lowest level of containment.

The solution for me in this situation (and likely for many of us) is really pretty simple: Hold the space for higher resolution to occur! Just hold the overall collective energy as high as possible without judgment for all of the participants. Allow the Universe to resolve this within Its own timeline, not mine.

Can I (or we) do that?

I sure hope so.

Silence Speaks So Loudly

During the most difficult times of our lives, there really are no words that sooth us as much as loving arms that hold us.

There really are no right words to speak when words are meaningless compared to actions.

Empathy is such a grace-filled quality—just being—just feeling—just knowing that only the warmth of another human body can calm grace.jpganother’s shaking.

With loss so deep there are few consolations that matter—even fewer wanting to be heard.

So say nothing other than your sorrow for such a personal vacuum.

And simply BE THERE for all who suffer.

BE THERE.

Silently.

Recommending Halpern’s “Deep Theta” for Transcendent Meditation

deeptheta.jpg

Looking for peace amidst the current nonsensical, political storm, I was going through my meditation playlist and ran across some oldies but very effective “goodies;” one of which was Steve Halpern’s “Deep Theta” set.  Very nice indeed!

I highly recommend this “Deep Theta” set (CD or Streaming) for regaining serious quietude.  Lovely tones clear and sooth the mind with beautiful sonic resonance that allows for deep brain coherence.  It’s reminiscent of undulating atop a placid lake on a tubular raft during summer’s warmest embrace.

I’d forgotten how nice that CD/mp3 set was.

If you prefer more melodic phrasing, another nice one to relax into is Halpern’s halperninnerpeace“Inner Peace”.  But the “Deep Theta” set is definitely my choice for reaching a higher level of being. This is a transcendence path. If you want to travel out and beyond your personal boundaries, the DT set is the one in which to listen.

What I’m personally finding more so in the last couple months is that you just have to shut out the external noise to remember who you really are at your soul level—which is far more than the BS we are currently experiencing in physicality.

So get quiet and go soul deep. That’s where you can really change things in your own life, as well as change the world around us. It’s all about higher harmonic resonance and the frequencies that we choose to hold for ourselves. The higher the frequency, the more personal control you have over your own health and the quality of your personal experience.

More on that later.

At present, these “Deep Theta” tones are helping to shift my vibration higher, and I’m sure they will help you to shift your own as well.

Peace.   (Which is the whole point.)
