Living Beyond Fear

These are my lengthy notes from hearing Sara Landon speaking sara-landon.pngon “Reclaim Your Power” from 3-13-18, on the “Beyond the Ordinary Show”. (Hopefully this link will work for you, if not you can join the “Beyond the Ordinary Show” where you can access all of the speakers.) This one is definitely worth hearing.

(Most of these notes are either direct quotes or are quickly paraphrased as I listened to Sara, so please pardon my not using quotation marks. If it is MY opinion, I put it in parentheses.)

We are allowing our deepest core fears to come to the surface now. We must choose a new way to be—a new way to react.  It takes courage to live now. Give yourself permission to see what your deepest fears are and how they have controlled every part feargraphicof your life—how those deepest fears have caused chaos, confusion and suffering in your life.  People are now leading others through promoting fear.  Our visceral responses to watching others lead through fear—living in fear—is adversely affecting us. By living in fear, we are giving our personal power over to others. So this time period in the world is all about you taking back power over your own life.

5 signs that you are giving your power away:

  1. Dysfunctional relationship patterns repeating over and over
  2. Health Issues
  3. Money Issues
  4. Addiction issues
  5. Career/financial stability problems

We are at the time when these fears have come out of the dark and into the light.  Now we can process through them and change them.  Are you feeling isolated and in self-doubt?  How do you take power back over your life?

What is power and why do you want it?

Power is the ability to create a desired result. You have the ability to create a desired result. You can get what you want. Sometimes we live our lives in avoidance of unwanted things rather than focusing on creating the things we DO want in our lives.

What is your deepest fear?

Ask yourself this.  Many say they fear not being loved or fear being alone.

We often do things to avoid being unloved and to NOT be alone, so we tend to give our power away to others, just to avoid those things.loveyourselfmore

Her Council said that: “Our greatest achievement in this life is SELF-love.”   If we can love ourselves, we can change the world and learn to love all others again. Self-love is not narcissism. It is a deep acceptance that “I am okay at my core being. I am really okay. It is okay to just be ME.”

There are only two innate fears that we are born with: Fear of falling and the fear of loud noises. All other fears are learned.   That means that all other fears were created in highly emotional personal experiences, either personally felt or witnessed interacting with others, or from media sources—like watching a scary movie or TV show.

We experienced the trauma and felt the toxic emotions associated with that fear, whether real or imagined, and we replayed it in our mind until it became a subconscious behavior program that now frames every aspect of our lives.

How do we reclaim our power? Our deepest instinct is to be a part of the tribe—it is survival related. Your chances of survival were stronger within a group community rather than on your own alone.

There’s a survival instinct for connection. So we often give our power away just to fit into the group or to be loved or accepted by others. The fear of not being loved or not being enough turns us into people-pleasers. We give our power away to fit in and feel accepted. The “unacceptable by others” aspect of us is the part that we hide or push down, or deny that even exists.

All of your true power lives in the NOW.  NOW is the power point. Fear lives in the past powerofnowtitleand the future. NOW is the moment you can change and address with love and determination rather than cower in the shadows because of your future fears. Your fears keep you from experiencing your peace and joy in the NOW.

What do you desire to create? That must be your focus. So address the main fear you hold.  Ask yourself, “What is my main fear?” Get quiet—go deep—be honest with yourself.

We bring the fears to the surface so we can examine them and release them—let them go.  (ME: Do a ceremony over releasing your fears.  Write them on paper, say a prayer of release, and then burn the paper. Exhale forcefully and physically blow those fear energies out of your body. Repeat 3-4 times.)

When fearful situations arise, they are good things!  They help us recognize the fear behind our motives and actions, and enable us to address it and release it.  Sometimes these base fears arise during our childhood when we are unable to defend ourselves, so back then we felt helpless, defenseless—now in the childhood fear.jpgpresent situation when similar emotions are triggered, even if it isn’t exactly the same situation, that same base fear arises and we are stuck in that fear and feel as helpless as we once did as a child. So we have to examine the fear and deconstruct it for all the components to see that we are now inherently safe because we are now able to better protect ourselves and to choose our responses and actions, rather than having the intentions/actions of others forced upon us.

This is when we learn to react differently in the NOW—stopping the looped pattern of reaction and behavior—and creating new patterns of response, and to reprogram our neural networks to develop new ways of looking at similar situations and new ways of reacting, or NOT reacting, to whatever is happening around you.

If you are feeling fearful, then stop yourself, calm yourself down, breathe deeply expelling the fear energies, and put your hand on your heart and say to yourself, “I’m okay.  I’m really okay.” And breathe through it. Keep doing that until your energy shifts higher.

Once the fearful thoughts are neutralized, then shift your awareness to that of feeling deeply at peace inside. Feel that peace in your heart area.  Really feel the peace of the moment where you are holding peace for yourself. Neutralize the once fearful thoughts using the desired feeling of peace and wellbeing, then you can move forward with your life from that still-point of peace and being in your own power w/o allowing any fear to adversely affect you. You eliminate the fear from your life.ichoosetobeme

Keep this thought in mind:  It’s okay to say NO to other people.  It’s okay to create space for yourself. That’s how you take back your power. Clarity often comes with a little bit of solitude where you can actually hear yourself, rather than hearing others barking at you.

Create time for yourself. Take time, like early in the morning, to create in your mind your perfect day ….no matter what you might actually face that day—create YOUR perfect day first in your mind.  That’s the energy you want to attract.

What do you really want in your life? That is your new focus. Make the time for yourself to determine what you DO want, and decide what you need to do to get it.

On limiting beliefs expressed around you …If your vibration is high enough, a limiting belief doesn’t matter. …When you are in alignment with your soul, limiting beliefs do not matter because you are able to easily release those beliefs from your consciousness.

But if you find yourself reacting adversely to others, then there is a subconscious program within you that is allowing you to be triggered by the person or the situation. That is actually the opportunity to allow the deeper hidden fear to surface for release.  We release those fears to move forward in creating the life we desire. So getting triggered by others is simply a good way to recognize another deeply held fear for your intentional release. (It may not feel like it at the time, but that person is doing you a favor by aggravating you.)

bringittolightWe bring it from the subconscious to consciousness to deal with it.

Bring it from the darkness to the light.

That’s where you can look more closely at it, and then let it go.

You release your fears to feel your true inner peace.

When you are living your true potential, you are living your highest joy.

That is living beyond fear.

Dueling Beliefs

dueling beliefs.jpgMany thoughts were swirling this Christmas season, as I recollected memories of friends and family who have passed from this earth-based existence.

Even the day of the BIG day, I shared a Facebook post on the essence of the season being that of peace and love, then immediately thought of a departed friend who would have countered my post with her own dueling-belief version stating that the reason for Christmas is Jesus, period.

Well, in a sense, yes, the day represents his birthday, whether factual or not (but since truthbelief.pngwhen does FACT ever matter to those who strongly believe the opposite) however, there is a symbolic representation of what the man Jesus represented to those around him at that time in the history of the world, as well as to the present world society that has interpreted his messages in unique and divergent ways.

Her particular beliefs were cemented in a few specifics of interpretation and appropriate “Christian” attitudes for her to maintain. When I first met her, she made that point clear to me from the start.

There was no diverging or differing in her religious belief system. As one might also expect, her political beliefs were very similar in effect.

She proudly was who she was—take it or leave it—staunchly content and vociferously defendant of her self-proclaimed “Christian Republican” label.  And when we talked, we avoided subjects that might lead to our confrontation of opinion.nograyarea

To her, there was no variance—no leanings to consider— life was right or wrong, black or white with no tolerance for gray shades—she was that certain in her opinions because she also believed that they defined her as a person.

But many years ago (2011) when she became stricken with some form of digestive cancer and I (with REIKI and hypnosis) did whatever I could to help her maintain her health and life activities for as long as was possible, her certainty and solidity began to waver.

She actually mellowed a bit. She considered the word “maybe” in her conversations on what had once defined her life.

So this morning when I shared that one little post that might have inspired an opposing opinion had she still been around, I reminded myself that her countering voice was now forever silent here, but I seriously wondered what her opinions might be now that she had transcended this plane of physicality. How do you see it from that vantage my friend? transcendence.jpgIs it all the same as you clung to here or is it a bit more loosely considered there? I’d love to know.

I can understand a sense of desperation in some beliefs—the emotional commitment to basing your very existence on holding some key tenants to be beyond reproach, but I also understand that when death calls you home, earthly beliefs mean little if they can’t stop death’s beckoning hand. At times such as those, inner peace may mean the difference in letting go of life with love or fighting to the last breath with fear of what lies beyond breath itself.

I hope she chose love.chooselove.jpg

That love would have sustained her and aided her transition to the next level. If she truly believed the energetic essence rather than the strict doctrine of what she once stated, she let love guide her home.

So this morning I sent blessings to her wherever she resides in the ethers, for that once strongly-countering voice I can hear echoing in my head.

At Christmas time I still think of you, Carolyn, …with a smile.

The Overview

What’s the overview here? Day after day I keep asking myself that question.multi

Why are so many suffering in such horrendous conditions all over the world?

It’s easy to get caught up in the disasters occurring nationally and globally, especially when they directly affect you or the friends you care about in some way, but what is the overview of what is actually happening worldwide and WHY is it happening? Is that is even discernible?

There are many distinct possibilities to consider: climate change, nuclear testing, fracking, air and water pollution, over-populations, disruption of natural eco-systems, solar flares and excess solar activity, pole wobble, electromagnetic devastationfluctuations, mankind proliferating in general and all the corresponding havoc that creates, etc..

Then there are all the subheads under “mankind in general” like: stupidity, greed, self-interest, maliciousness, vindictiveness, fearfulness, fratricide, sociopathic and psychotic behavior, to name a few easily recognizable traits.

I haven’t even touched the theology-related excuses for reasons too onerous to god disastmention all basically claiming God’s displeasure over some aspect of our existence that doesn’t adhere to the doctrine being prescribed by a believer.

I don’t even want to go there!

BUT…at the same time a part of me says that to do an accurate overview you have to be able to VIEW the entirety of the situation from a perspective distant enough to allow random chaos to form patterns of coherence. And WHO/WHAT handles that type of perspective other than an omniscient/all powerful being or force that not only understands the logic of what is occurring but INITIATES the situations that create the aforementioned chaos for a reason we are not able to discern.

catch 22.jpgIt’s a Catch-22. The (book and movie) World War II scenario think-process: You’re claiming to be mentally unstable so you can’t serve in the military, but what is more mentally unstable than to want to be in the military serving combat duty? So you use saying you’re crazy as your defense for not-serving, but the military knows you’ll use it and therefore considers that you must be sane to try not to serve, so they ignore your insanity claim.

(Defined by Wikipedia as “A situation in which a desired outcome or solution is impossible to attain because of a set of inherently contradictory rules or conditions.”)

Which means that in this situation I do believe that there is an overview reason for all the chaos, but since I’m not privy to that level of knowing to declare what it is other than my guessing at it—which is what most religions do in their own unique ways, so any answer that I offer will sound eerily close to a theological argument—just slightly skewed because of my own beliefs.

Meaning my view of the OVERVIEW is not verifiable fact, it’s just a different flavor of belief.

And with that stated disclaimer, here goes:

To me it all comes down to whether or not you believe that life is intentional or accidental. Then that distills down into whether or not you believe there is such a thing as “an accident.”voltaire accident q.jpg

If there are no accidents, then everything is intentional and everything has a purpose and a reason for its existence and function in the world we recognize. We just may not know the purpose or reason for it.

Pardon me for this tangent, but I was just rereading some old Carlos Castaneda quotes this morning about the KNOWN, the UNKNOWN, and the UNKNOWABLE, time cc.jpgwhich tries to define the limits to our human comprehension ability. This description alludes to our limited ability to know or learn things that we previously did NOT know, which are represented by the UNKNOWN. Then there is the infinitely large category called the UNKNOWABLE, which is beyond our present human-existence context and our capability to comprehend.

We can’t get our arms around the UNKNOWABLE because it exists beyond our present frame of reference and mental capacity to make any sense of it or even to conceive of it.

To make my point here with no soothing reassurances what-so-ever: I do believe thatcastenada.jpg there is a reason for all the chaos and destruction happening in the world at present, as well as a reason for all the chaos and destruction that has ever occurred at any time in the recognizable history of the earth, BUT….it is likely a reason we cannot grasp with any certainty, or catalog definitively within the material-world parameters that we know.

So does my overview help to calm our fears and anxiety over the nasty situations many are experiencing world-wide?

Not in the slightest.

gods handWhich is the very real example of WHY religions grew in popularity over thousands and thousands of years of human existence—to make sense of the UNKNOWN and to speculate on the UNKNOWABLE, because it’s a pretty scary world out there if you’re on your own and you don’t have a group structure to support you.

Shared risk is shared relief.

And the knowledge we gain over the course of our lives only matters in how we use it.

I concede that some things are knowable, and to that I would say that the overview of catastrophic destruction is that it creates opportunity for change and revision—a clearing of the palate sort of thing for the next course of action.

The key point to consider is that the next course of action is truly up to each of us. How we react to chaos and devastation is how the next phase of our lives unfolds.

At present, whatever situation in which we find ourselves, no matter how horrific, simply IS. Our only choice is in how we acknowledge that fact and move forward to a better existence for ourselves and for everyone else in the world that we know, …if we can even define what that might be.

I’m not sure that I can define it other than it will likely be a shared goal, vilsack goals.jpgrather than a self-interested one.

I’ll go with that.

Taking the FUN Out of Dysfunction

Just saw U.S. Rep. Charlie Dent on Morning Joe talking about the latest Trump insane rants and the accumulative effects of his instability-laden speeches and actions, and dysfunction.jpgCharlie shook his head and said “President Trump has taken the FUN out of dysfunction.”

Yep, definitely NO FUN there now.  But then I can’t remember when it actually WAS fun.

Yesterday Trump expressed his usual campaign pigswill at the National Boy Scouts Jamboree (“a gathering of tens of thousands of hitler boys.jpgyoungsters from around the world eager to absorb the ideas of service, citizenship and global diplomacy.”–Wikipedia) which was so chilling because it was reminiscent of Hitler addressing his Youth Squads who were specifically groomed to idolize der Fuhrer. (Oh my, even the uniforms are similar.)

With a captive audience of 30,000 mainly impressionable kids of all ages, Trump delivered a propagandistic diatribe on everything dredged from the depths of his own darkness—all his insecurities, all his inadequacies, all his fears, all his malevolence, all his vindictiveness, all his mental incoherencies, all of his negative character deficiencies for which he is best known—ALL of it, he delivered primarily to pre-teen and teenage males looking for good, solid role models that Scouting is meant to represent for them.

But instead of providing those Scouts with a reputable model for “service, citizenship, secs of BS.jpgand global diplomacy,” not to mention a shining example of the best possible adult character and behavior, they got him—the worst living example of what wielding a position of power can mean.

Hello Congress people out there who represent the last possible salvation for our future: Why are you allowing this ludicrous, dangerous, top-administrative insanity to continue?

Do your jobs!!!

Can’t you see that his malignant dysfunction is now being promoted onto our youth?

You want to start offering a Scout Badge now for mastering the skills of bigotry and scout badge.jpgracism?

And the other thing I want to know is when was his aberrant dysfunction ever FUN?

When Words Fail Me

Lately I could say SO much and yet I know there is nothing of value in saying it.

Were this comedy of errors less critical to the welfare of the entire planet and to all of us who live here, it would be easy to complain and rail and stomp about, but instead I find silence the best choice for my own sanity.

dictatorsThis is no way to run a country in which democratic ideals and humanitarian pursuits are its founding principles; nor is it remotely smart to devalue intelligent, factual information on national security, political, and ecological subjects, or to deride the highly-trained specialists who are providing it.

When despots and dictators become the most admired and most emulated management style of a country’s highest executive, it is time to reassess the wisdom of having that person in such a powerful office.

There are always alternate choices. Perhaps it is time to consider them.

It only takes intense congressional discomfort with the present office occupant to initiate the change.25th amend

Help your congressional representatives (Senate and House) to make the choice that is in all of our best interests: Amendment 25.

“American Crime” – Studies in Character

I love a good character study, whether enjoyed through reading a good book or a watching a dramatic presentation.charac quote.jpg

Nothing says “humanity” better than witnessing exposed human foibles and a character’s visually-recorded self-delusion.

It’s the mirror we all stare into but seldom realize who we see because we are so busy watching ourselves acting in different bodies with strange faces that sometimes appeal to or repel us.

This comes as no surprise to anyone who watches it, but our present television offering is the black hole of attention consumption. It sucks away our hours, our days, and our lives. We watch renditions of LIFE rather than actually living it.

And in return, television media gives us…….um,……I mean besides all the blatant money-grubbing advertising, …it basically gives us little other than being an insomniac’s last refuge or a 50-inch, rectangular pacifier.

I wouldn’t even call most viewing options “entertainment” as much as I would call it varied flavors of escapism—escapism geared to your favorite obsession or fear.

So when I, in my own escapist foray, ran across a really good dramatic series based mainly on character study utilizing creative character dissection, I took notice.american crime

I’ve trolled the Netflix options many times. Some series are so-so, some hard to get past the first 4 minutes, and some were fairly interesting. But if you are really into character studies, I would suggest the series called “American Crime.”

It’s certainly not what I expected it to be, and gladly so. The main actors are some of the best, and are well-known in their own rights, but combined together in this unusual format and artistic renditions of “life as it actually is, not as we project it to be” they are superb mirrors of human self-deception, self-destruction, and self/family annihilation.

And that is the ironic title’s claim: “American Crime” – it explores the cultural/societal/legal crimes we commit daily on ourselves, our families, muslim women.jpgand our communities.

Why on earth would that be interesting or entertaining to watch?

Because it is so revelatory in each unveiling episode. You relate to the de-masking of the characters—their proposed aspirations, their genuine woundedness, and seas 2.jpgtheir hidden weaknesses. Through each of their depictions, you see how easy it is to slide away just a little from your own integrity and end up in a complex situation with the sudden choice of now facing the evolved problem head on, or trying to bury it deeper in even greater deception coupled with harsher future consequences. (Hint: they all go for the latter one.)

What I liked most about the two season series other than showing the same actors in alternate character universes, was that there really were no clear good guys—no clear child protectbad guys depicted in the show. There were no easily distinguished heroes and no pure villains, although some were implied and assumed until proven not to be.

In each season’s dramatic character exposition, there were only flawed people like you and me, making one or two choices that led to violent repercussions and forever tainted lives because of their simple acts of greed, lust, loneliness or self-loathing.character are you

The most prevalent theme I took from both seasons was that all of us need love and acceptance, openness and understanding. But without those necessities, we live shallow, deceptive, and destructive lives that eventually implode.

It isn’t that our lives are fated to be that way—it’s that we choose our fates because of those unmet needs.

And that is the biggest crime.

“Nobody Said It Would Be Easy”

Has anyone noticed the strength and force of the energies the last few weeks?

Or perhaps you might have noticed a change in interactions and the intensity of world events. Those changes are often easier to spot.

The astrology folks attribute it to something “squaring this or that planet” that will stay in place for a very long time. (As an Energy Worker, I tend to care more about the general reason for the energies that I’m feeling at the time, than the details of what may be creating it.)

ocean waveIn essence what most astrologers are saying is that our little boat can expect choppy waters ahead for the next year or two as we seem to be navigating through an ocean of strong, energy cross-currents more so than riding a single-direction river flowing from upstream to down.

Time to stock up on Dramamine!

In fact, the best way to plan for this extended aquatic journey is to put your life-jacket on now, secure the supplies so they don’t wash away, and learn how to bail out the boat whenever it starts getting too water-logged. Expect to be challenged in all possible ways. Learn how to handle adverse situations beforehand.divine light

Preparation is the key to success, and a good plan starts with maintaining a good attitude. Keep your energies high-frequency (love- and light-based) and power-up frequently (involves recharging yourself with Divine White Light in meditations and guided journeys).

Stay focused on positive changes in your personal life, no matter the situation that you actually find yourself in; and refuse to be deterred by those who try to weigh you down with their defeatist diatribes.

There is only ONE point you need to keep foremost in your mind now:

You are capable of doing whatever you set your mind to do—so just do it!   (This was my actual mantra slogan for many previous challenging years.)

Just lettough your own light shine through any darkness you may encounter ahead. That’s why you came—to bring light to the darkness.

That’s why we are ALL here now—to hold our own light as high-frequency and as strongly as we can for as long as we need to do so.

You can do it.
