What Is True Authenticity?

If you can actually answer that spiritual question posed here of “What is TRUE authenticity?” then the next question would be “Then how do you define SELF-realization?”  (Wow, shades of Paramahansa Yogananda’s revelations on SELF-REALIZATION)—which is from the same ‘self-awareness era’ that A.H. Almaas reminds me of when I first read his “Diamond Approach” book a few years ago.  He was an early pioneer of self/TRUE SELF-realization back in the 70’s-80’s, when Yogananda’s epic Hindu philosophy was fairly popular.

The analysis of TRUE AUTHENTICITY all comes back to answering the basic questions of whoamihand (1).jpgWho am I?  What is my TRUE identity? Am I strictly a physical being ruled by my biology and pathology? Or am I an elusive spiritual entity seemingly trapped in an earth-bound physical body—constantly yearning to return to my True Higher Source from which I came?

These are all good questions, and ones I’ve certainly been asking myself for the last 30 years.

These old gems are surfacing again now because I’m currently understandingnarcissismst.jpglistening to A. H. Almaas (founder of the Diamond Approach®), on “how narcissism became an impediment to spiritual awakening”. (It’s Day 7 of the same “Understanding Narcissism” series from Sounds True, like the Caroline Myss presentation from a few days ago.)  According to Almaas,

“when you move from simply experiencing your spiritual nature, to BEING it—meaning, when you move from somebody who is experiencing the spiritual experience to BEING the spiritual experience itself—THAT is self-realization. …

…The Self here is NOT defined by the MIND in your self-identity—meaning: You are NOT who you erroneously delude yourself that you are—your self-identity may not be a pure representation of WHO you really are, but may instead be an aggregation of who you have been told that you are, who you wish that you were, and who you often act like in actual daily life.  It’s your self-representation—NOT your true self-identity.

Tami Simon pins him down pretty well here trying to sharpen his focus: “OK, and what you’re saying is this constellation of self-representations, self-images, self-identification with my body, with my name, with my place in the world, that this is all inherently narcissistic, because it’s not actually essential, stripped down, not what I actually AM in this moment without referencing memories and self-representations.”

almaasquote.jpg

Almaas responds with “That is TRUE.  There is another way of looking at it,….it has nothing to do with instability and insecurity in the sense of self—a sense of false  identity. …now in spiritual work, the EGO is ultimately unstable and insecure because it is NOT who we really are.  So true challenges to our experience will show it (the EGO) to be fragile.  It may not be obvious in our experience, but when we come to something extraordinary or profound, the EGO is shaken. …because it’s NOT who we really are. …We are more than that.” …

…”In your old age, when you’ve lived your life and all that, when you come to the end of your accomplishments, where does your VALUE come from?  When you’re forgotten about, when you come to the end of what other people think of you, when you come to your actual self—where does your TRUE value come from?

For spiritually-realized people, value gushes out from inside.  It is inherent to the TRUE Self—that is SELF-REALIZATION.  The TRUE SELF is pure sense of preciousness, goodness, and beauty.  So its value is intrinsic and inherent. It does not need accomplishments.

…But in a realized person, those things are an expression of something deeper. And because of that, their actions and activities have a lot to do with benefiting others instead of simply benefiting oneself. ..So Ego is inherently self-centered. …But a realized person doesn’t think of others as different than oneself—they are naturally loving and caring, …not self-centered—self-focused.  …How do I feel? …I feel like my heart is full of some kind of richness, a richness, a fullness, a sort of sweetness, a kind of love, …a love that is an inherent higher value.  I, being ME, is PURE VALUE.  I don’t need others to see that value. I feel it—I am IT—which is a far cry from somebody who wants their value to be seen and acknowledged by others to feel a sense of value within themselves. …

We are the SELF that is not created by the actions of time…. It simply IS—it infinitely exists as the ‘I AM’. THAT is SELF-REALIZATION—the direct recognition that I am the ‘I AM’. “

Lee Harris on the November Energies

leeharrisportraitheadshot.jpg

After listening to this video I feel practically prescient with my article October 21st on “When Things Go Wrong,” talking about the collective energies that we are currently experiencing.  🙂

From how awful the current energies are, to our need to stay alert and pay better attention to what is happening to and around us; even to the necessity to simply be a better listener and be less prone to automatically “react” to everything that we see and hear.

Anyway, I nodded my way through most of his video and I think it’s worth a listen.

[ And what works for me as a re-focuser is during stressful situations, or when I’m feeling extremely agitated or have those uncomfortable, naturally-reactive emotions, is to simply sit down, take a few very deep breaths, close my eyes and say aloud, “I release the energies of __________ (fear, anxiety, sadness, anger, jealousy, pain, etc.—whatever you might be feeling at the time).  I release them completely now.  They do not serve me.”  And then forcefully blow those nasty thoughts and emotional energies out of your mouth at least 3 times.  Then just sit quietly for a few minutes with your eyes closed and see if your attitude has shifted higher. (Meaning: Do you now feel more relaxed and at peace?)   If it didn’t help shift your attitude or your energies, then do it all again—1st the release statements, then 3 breaths blowing out forcefully, and then taking a calm full breath again to relax your body and sitting quietly for a few minutes to see if you notice a change. ]

 Lee’s November video:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FkfRTrX_IDo&feature=youtu.be

“The main themes for November are: leeharrisnovemberenergy.jpg

  • CRAZY GETTING CRAZIER
  • IDENTITY SHIFT
  • THE POWER OF LISTENING

–CRAZY GETTING CRAZIER. When I was tuning in a couple of days ago about November and beyond, this was one of the messages that I got. The ‘crazy’ in the outside world is getting ‘crazier’ – so if you’re able to constantly reconcile your own feelings and thoughts and separate what’s yours from the crowds – you will be able to stay more balanced, more centered and more able to be part of what is needed during these times.

— IDENTITY SHIFT. Apparently, a lot of us are going through that Identity Shift right now. It’s going to get stronger and louder than ever in November and continue for a good three to six month period. Some of you will be entering into this big Identity Shift now and it relates to your personal power (as I mentioned in the October Energy Update). Those of you that own your power or are taking on your power are about to go through an Identity Shift. That might just look like changes but it can also look like huge upgrades.

–Last but not least on the POWER OF LISTENING. When we’re able to really listen to others in a deep way, we may notice that someone’s words might be saying one thing but their tone and their energy might be saying something completely different. All of us can reach that place where we are feeling a little off or a little off center. The power of listening to others and the power of listening to ourselves is very important. So, do regular check-ins and deeply listen to your answers.

Have a beautiful month everyone!  Big love X  – Lee Harris

Overcoming the Fear of Death

When I saw this Alberto Villoldo blog-entry email ocfeardeath34.jpgon overcoming the fear of death, it triggered some memories for me of my own client situations where I became less the “curer” of the serious illness before me and became more the gentle “transition” coach for those clients—the one who helps them more peacefully transition from this life experience to the Spirit World they would soon re-enter.

As he mentions in the blog post, there were times in the two decades of my energy healing practice (REIKI, Shamanic, Hypnosis) when I was called in as a “last resort” with some new client to see if I could perform a miraculous healing and reverse their likely terminal situation.

Despite their desperate desire for reversing their dire situation, I never made miraculous-healing claims to them.  I simply acknowledged that no matter what reason initially brought that person to me, he or she was there before me for a specific need that maybe I could fill, even though it might not be for the same reason that they thought it would be.  No matter the outcome, I would do whatever I could do to help them with their current situation, and that we would face the illness together until they no longer needed or wanted me to help.

I can honestly say that I always did my very best for them—for ALL of them.  After our REIKI sessions, many, if not all, were lightened of negative/heavy energies and severe mental strain that were dragging their attitudes ever downward because REIKI has this amazing ability to simply lift their energy fields to higher frequencies, and to help them hold that wonderful sense of being at peace and feeling a greater sense of well-being. It also eased the pain that they were experiencing and often countered the extremely nasty effects of chemo or radiation.

While I worked on them, I played the most beautiful, ethereal music that I had in my collection and told them to simply relax into the music as we would soon be rising together to the highest level of healing and angelic assistance.  I even made free CD copies for them of that same music to play whenever they needed to bask in that wonderful higher ambiance—to help get them through the days until the next time we could be together to ride the higher energies again.

After only a treatment or two, no matter what process was going on with their body, jumpintospacefear54.jpgthey realized that a deep sense of peace still existed within them. And I lovingly stood by those who requested my continued presence, providing pure, higher frequency energy for them during our REIKI sessions.  While they still breathed life on earth, they could feel the eternal love and the most beautiful higher light that they knew awaited them in the next venue—and in knowing the genuine feel of deep inner peace, they did heal what could be healed within themselves and throughout their relationships while they still had the time on earth left to do so.

That is what Alberto refers to here in this article. Curing and healing are two different things—and sometimes facing our death with a calm grace and feeling deeply at peace inside is a far deeper soul healing than an illness cure can provide.

“2019 Oct 22 —ENDINGS, TRANSITIONS, AND BEGINNINGS: OVERCOMING FEAR OF DEATH  —  Alberto Villoldo, PhD

 https://thefourwinds.com/blog/shamanism/endings-transitions-beginnings-overcoming-fear-death/

albertoblogondeath2019.jpg“Fear of death—whether death of the body, a way of thinking, a relationship, a situation, or a dream—must be experienced fully and consciously, and then overcome for new, healthy growth to take place. We master our fear of death when we understand that our nature is transtemporal (outside of time) and undying, continuing for all eternity. …

… At just 12 years old, Annie was the youngest cancer patient I had ever worked with. Her parents had brought her to see me in the hope that One Spirit Medicine would reverse her brain cancer. They had tried every conceivable medical intervention to no avail and were looking to me for the cure they had failed to find anywhere else. Annie had lost all her hair from chemotherapy and looked like a young, smiling Buddha as she sat in a big leather chair in my office.

I explained to Annie’s parents the difference between healing and curing. While curing is the elimination of symptoms, healing works at a much deeper level, treating the causes of the imbalance that lead to disease. And while a cure is the ideal outcome of a medical intervention, healing is the product of a journey in which all aspects of your life are transformed—even if you end up dying. You carry your healed self into your next life.

…I asked Annie’s parents to sit outside in the waiting area so I could be alone with her. After a few moments of small talk, she told me bluntly, “I’m not afraid.” She went on to say that angels came to her every night in her dreams—and even during the day at times. But her parents were deathly afraid for her. “I can’t tell them about the angels,” Annie said. But she thought I would understand. And I did. I sensed that the veils between the worlds were parting for Annie and that her spirit was preparing for the great journey home. But her parents were understandably determined to do everything possible to help Annie live, and this meant trying to get rid of her cancer by taking her to a string of specialists and finally, as a last resort, to me.

I’ve been a practicing shaman long enough to understand that death is part of life. And I have seen that some of my most successful healings consisted of helping my clients die peacefully and consciously. So I performed an Illumination on Annie, to help bring balance to her energy field and thus to her body. The Illumination is the core healing practice of shamanic energy medicine, in which the luminous energy field is cleared of the imprints of disease to help mobilize the body’s own healing systems. …”

How to Create Order from Disorder—Feeling the ELEPHANT

This morning I saw a Facebook post of a video clip of Dr. Joe and his LondonReal interview on how to change yourself and the world for the better. It’s called joeunlockmindpiuc.jpg“UNLOCKING THE HUMAN MIND: How to Rewrite Your Story “  ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Krrd3AwwLqU )  It’s worth a listen.  (Just click thru the ads to get to it.)

Also this morning Alberto Villoldo villaldobloghealingfisrt45.jpgput out his blog post of a personal healing story that was his primary initiatory healing experience in Peruvian shamanism, called:  “TASTING PEACE: MY FIRST EXPERIENCE WITH ENERGY HEALING”

While both are quite different in content, they both allude to the ability to change our situations and ourselves by shifting our focus from the material world’s limitations and set patterns of belief into Source’s quantum energy field that both initially creates and then sustains us, because everything that we experience in this life is all about ENERGY and how we exist in our purest state—which is simply as ENERGY itself.

Both viewing options offer interesting perspectives, and both shed light on a subject that for some might be a little hard to fathom, yet it is the basis for life as ‘we know it,’ and as we have ‘yet to know it’.

Whether alive or dead to this physical world, we are still energy units and will always remain as energy units. That energy part of us continues on into infinity because energy never ceases to exist, it simply transforms into other uses for it.

quantumenergyfield.jpg

During this life experience our conscious awareness expands and transforms as we ‘grow it’; and upon our passing from the earth that grown consciousness then uploads to the Greater Source Consciousness.  We are all continually expanding the Greater Source Consciousness—which some would say is simply Source (GOD) exploring itself.

From my personal perspective, I’ve spent the last twenty years as an energy worker of some sort, whether in REIKI or Shamanism or even in hypnosis (because to better understand the subconscious mind is to delve into the ocean of energies where it exists in a myriad of forms).

With each discipline learned, I gained a different perspective on energy healing that allowed me to, as the old parable stated, “describe the ELEPHANT by a committee of 6543blindmenandelephantblind-men”.  If you are unfamiliar with that parable, here is a brief summary: To one blind-person standing at the rear of the beast, the elephant was like a rope because he held the tail. To another blind-person at the front, the elephant was like a coiling snake because he held the moving trunk. To yet another it was a huge boulder (the side), or a large tree trunk (the leg).

In effect, to each blind-person the elephant was something limited in scope and understanding—each part relatable only to that in which they were touch-familiar.  Because they were all blind, no one person by themselves could see the total picture of ELEPHANT because each one was limited to what part they could actually feel before them.

Source energy—the quantum field as it is often called, has presented itself to me over the years like I was one of those blind-people describing that enormous, unfathomable elephant.  REIKI described it one way. Shamanism described it another way, and hypnosis yet a different way.  All healing modalities were effective in how they explored the subject, but none had the total picture of how all those differing techniques actually functioned within the quantum field itself and transformed the unharmonious situations with a client.

Because I’m an ‘I want to know the BIG PICTURE’ type of person, I think this ‘blind-persons’ committee’ is still out on how Greater Source Energy (GOD) or the Quantum Energy Field actually works.

But I did conclude that after twenty years in energy work I now better understand the amazing energy healing powers of REIKI by learning a different perspective on energy jamesorschmanquoteenergy43.jpgwork from shamanic healing. Just as I better understand now how shamanic healing can be so effective in some instances after learning the theories and techniques of hypnosis.  In fact to me, it seemed easier and more client-empowered to do things like soul-retrieval and past-life healing using hypnosis, rather than shamanism where I went from being the “healer” in those shamanic-client situations, to simply creating the healing environment for the client to heal themselves using hypnosis.

So to ‘still-inquiring’ me with various forms of energy healing under my belt, the Quantum Energy Field is the same ELEPHANT that you’re feeling around on no matter where you stand, it’s just from one location I’m holding the ELEPHANT’S tail, and the other location I’m holding the trunk.

But no matter what I’m doing in energy work, I still want to see the BIGGER PICTURE—I want to see THE ENTIRE ELEPHANT itself and understand WHY it is standing there so prominently in front of me.  And most importantly, I want to know how best I can utilize ITS presence, because that subject pertains to my inquiries into the nature of reality and the nature of consciousness.  What the heck IS that ELEPHANT? What makes that ELEPHANT what it is?

But back to the video/post shown above, both Dr. Joe and Alberto here are talking about using the quantum field for healing—in effect they are both feeling around on that ELEPHANT—focused in different ways, using different techniques for doing so.

It’s just a very large ELEPHANT.

The Mind Recognizes Patterns–Understanding PTSD

I was examining a desktop image of a jaguar lying on the river bank in a jungle setting and thinking how easy it would be in real life for the jaguar to simply slip back about five feet into that tangled jungle maze and be completely disguised by the surrounding multi-fronds of tans and various shades of green dangling throughout this natural setting.

BingWallpaper-2019-07-09.jpg

Seeing the jaguar then would be like one of those “Find the beach ball in this mass of balloons” puzzle that tricks the eye and challenges the intellect. While the eye might distinguish differences among the numerous lights and darks and elongated linear shapes in the picture, the mind determines the recognizable patterns within the picture frame.

To even recognize cat-shape and leopard–spots you must have seen them prior and attributed a label or a “name” to that general shape and texture so that upon seeing a simile of a “spotted-cat,” the mind immediately tries to identify it in some way to determine the jagstalkingyou45relative safety for our personal being in the situation.

While seeing a picture of a jaguar sunning on a jungle riverbank isn’t exactly hazardous to our health, seeing the real thing lying only a few feet from us might be, and the mind reacts to that possibility with a subtle or a pronounced warning signal. If you’ve ever been in a close encounter with a jaguar, even the above picture itself could trigger a spurt of adrenaline through us by preparing us for a “fight or flight” response.

How we naturally react to whatever we encounter depends on our personal history with the situation or the subject matter.

This is the problem many military personnel face when they return from fighting in war zones.  No matter where they are, no matter the actual setting around them, metaphorically they see the density of the jungle surrounding them and expectjageyealertwatching the jaguar to be lurking there ready to attack them—except the jaguar would be in human form armed with rifles and explosives, and the “jungle” could be any suspicious setting—urban or rural—where human jaguars might lie in wait for them—ready to attack.  Those who have known some form of combat can’t relax because they know “the jaguar” is always there—ready to pounce if they simply let down their guard for a moment.

This is a trick of the mind when encountering remote similarities in our lives: Our minds try to protect us by alertly recognizing patterns that might prove hazardous to our being.

multicolorbrainwaves98.jpg

Our minds often do not differentiate between the nuances of “home” settings which should be considered safe or of “war” settings which would be considered unsafe. The mind simply recognizes any patterns of possible “enemy concealment” in our surroundings along with the uncertainty of what lies beyond the next turn in the road or the ominous new direction of the curving path before us.

Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome (PTSD) is quite real. And there should be NO stigma related to our mind simply trying to protect us from any perceived danger, even in supposedly SAFE settings (which in today’s world there seem to be fewer of).

ptsdsymotomsquote.jpg

PTSD is our own mind simply trying to keep us alive the best way it can, because the world we have known in the past was a pretty scary place to be.

There are many ways to help the mind retrain itself to be less reactive to what we might have once perceived as a threat.  Many therapists now employ techniques like EMDR, or Tapping, or hypnosis, or flashing light therapies, or even other techniques that I’m presently unaware of.

The therapeutic community has advanced considerably over the last decade, so if you’d like to learn a bit more about these newer therapies, I suggest these two books that I emdrmadesimplebookpersonally own: EMDR Made Simple: 4 Approaches to Using EMDR with Every Client, by Jamie Marich; and TAPPING IN: A Step-By-Step Guide to Activating Your Healing Resources Through Bilateral Stimulation, by Laurel Parnell. PhD.tappinginparnell.jpg

I wasn’t a combat vet but awhile back I had some PTSD of my own, and both books helped me to clear away the constant mental hyper-alertness and helped to uncover and release the deeply-held, hidden fears by utilizing those two techniques: EMDR and Tapping (Bilateral Stimulation).

You can give them a try just by reading the books.  Both of those books talk you through what to do. If they seem to help, you might then find a good therapist who offers one or both of those techniques to help reset your mind’s pattern recognition.

There is NO stigma attached to PTSD. It is simply the mind doing what it does naturally—trying to keep us safe from harm.

That’s to be applauded, not condemned.

August Energies: Dancing Between the Old and the New

Of the ‘energy assessors’ that I follow, I thought Lee Harris had the better analysis for August 2019 energies, and felt that it needed to be shared.  So my suggestion is to simply visit the website mentioned below where the video and transcript of his August energy assessment is available for you. (But I did break out a few key points below for emphasis.)

augustlee harris23.jpg

Energy Update August 2019

“If you are feeling like you have been through the wringer the last month or so, you are right on track. August will in some ways be a lot calmer and smoother in terms of the waters of life. But that’s in preparation for September when the speed will kick off again, so this is a month where we enter a new phase for the rest of the year. So, many of you will feel like you’re coming to the end of a period of reviewing and clearing in August, and ready to move into a period from September onwards where more birth and foundational energy will be available. August itself will have a very different energy signature to the last 2 or 3 months; a period which brought with it many surprises, twists and turns, and unexpected events.

The main themes to focus on for August for this NEW PHASE WE ARE ENTERING are:

  • A NEW LEVEL OF PRESENCE
  • VISIONS, DREAMS AND EPIPHANIES
  • SELF-CARE BEING NEEDED NOW MORE THAN EVER

What I was shown for August is that we’re about to enter a very new phase which makes sense of the last month or two – the intensity, the push-pull, the high emotions, the moving from one state to another quite fast. There has been a lot of vibrational upshift happening, in an awkward, uncomfortable or sometimes messy way. But this has been in relation to (and preparation for) the new phase we enter now in August. So, for those of you who are looking for a reprieve from the intensity, and surfing the extremes of the past few months, it’s going to take some time for that ‘clearing’ phase to calm down somewhat. So, self-care and your self-care needs are going to continue to be of high importance….”

***

“…So is it a new awareness you are opening or a new nudge to actually ‘create’ that you are having? Important to discern the difference right now as it can be tricky to know which.

I bring this up because in August especially, these dreams, visions, epiphanies and ideas are going to continue to be strong as part of you reviewing your life, this world, and reviewing what’s next. We’re in a planetary wide review of life and consciousness itself, and it’s an experience that’s going on for everybody….

***

“…There are more people in emotional, physical or circumstantial need right now on the planet than ever before. You’ll notice this and you’ll notice that these struggles are often the catalyst to awaken people into their hearts, their consciousness. It’s a shame it has to happen that way. It’s far nicer when it happens without a pressured circumstance, but that pressure is a part of how consciousness is opening and spreading across the planet….

***

“…And remember that for all of us it can be quite challenging, as we dance between old parts of ourself and new parts of ourself. So remember that today is new – and everything that we’re about to move through is quite new. But most of us in this dance of the extremes that I was talking about, especially in the month of July, we’re going between old patterns, old ideas, old beliefs and then straight into new ideas, new beliefs, new experiences….”         —Lee  Harris

Earth as Incubator for the Soul

Just wanted to mention a well-researched article recently posted by Jean-Jacques Montagnier (http://gypsycafe.org/) that begins a three-part examination of the energies of this time period, their purposeful function, and how they relate to the ancient predictions of the Mayan Calendar and to the Vedic Energy Cycles.

He asks these enigmatic questions: “Why have some societies become so polarized? Should we not have moved into global harmony after 2012? Does polarisation have any purpose? Why is the polarisation so extreme? How long will it last? How well are we handling it? Are humans capable of living in harmony at all? How can we deal with major world problems during all this polarization?”

Dark Are the Days, but the Light Is Coming, Part 1 – An Incubator for the Soul

In this 3-Part series we are exploring the purpose of polarity and the nature of truth – JJMAn-Incubator-for-the-Soul-Diana-Graham-Hogsback-South-Africa-JJ-Montagnier-gypsycafe.org-.jpg

“Dark are the Days, but The Light is Coming – Parts 2 & 3 (+4)

In the next chapters we will continue to take a deep dive into how polarity facilitates human development and growth; we will consider how we as individuals can find our purpose and maintain balance within our polarised times; we will contemplate the nature of truth in a ‘post-truth’ world and we will consider how we can get get ready for the (future) incoming light of truth.
