One Last Chance to Visit 3 Presenters from the “Understanding Narcissism” Summit

understandingnarcissismst

Just saw the email from Tami Simons (Sounds True) on a last chance to hear Caroline Myss’s presentation that I wrote about earlier, ( https://content.soundstrue.com/understanding-narcissism-summit-encore?utm_source=bronto&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=C191116-UNS-Sell4&utm_content=Myss,+Hanson,+and+Neff+-+Free+Encore+Presentations&_bta_tid=09528543415476418810300132756200661561082200615837475413618082489837536028413298474285896175960726012765&_bta_c=azpcfyz2d505smzjcvmh15bka8yxt),  as well as two additional presenters, one of which I am reviewing here today.

This one is called “Healthy Confidence” by Rick Hanson, PhD.  Initially I didn’t understand (or appreciate) why Rick’s focus was on looking for a healthy approach to milder aspects of narcissism. So today when I listened again, I did so with the consideration that for some reason Tami and Jeffery thought that out of the 20 presenters listed, not only Caroline was offered again (which I easily 4dbb3d925440f266e9f3a71eaca87e9c.jpgunderstood), but also offered again for some reason was Rick Hanson’s presentation which to me represented the counter argument for considering mild forms of narcissism as building blocks for establishing a sense of solid self-esteem.

Then I listened more closely to what Rick was actually stressing here and he sounded very “Dr. Joe Dispenza” to me—more about healing yourself by holding the higher love-frequency emotions and using positive reinforcement to establish new patterns of brain function.  Then it made sense why he was offered as an encore. It was a positive presentation of helping others to help themselves in terms of self-worth.  Here are a few quotes:

“It’s about narcissism vs. self-worth—helping people develop (constructive) concepts of true self-worth to help those (more destructive) narcissistic tendencies fall away. Narcissists have a hollowness inside—an emptiness that they keep trying to fill with external recognition and a fair amount of self-preoccupation.  …”

He researched mother-toddler pairs and how those interactions created the solidity or lack-thereof in early childhood development.  “ …dismissive or indifferent early-childhood care-givers often created the void felt by infants that later led to excessive self-focused behaviors…”  It involved negative enforcement for undesirable infant behavior rather than a positive approach to desirable behaviors. … meaning, caregivers ignoring crying, disruptive behaviors, etc.

“It’s not abusive parental behavior, as it is simply a behavioral modification style that the parent believes is necessary and beneficial to the child and family in the long run, but which actually creates a feeling of unmet needs in the infant and child. … the child has yearnings for personal connection and love—to feel cared for and appreciated…these are normal human needs that are then met or unmet by the style of the caregiver. …

“Feelings of low worth and insecurity lead to self-preoccupation of feeling inadequate or insecure that push away the needs of other people in favor of fulfilling their own.  Overt narcissism is an endless pulling of social supplies from other people to fill that hole in the heart. …

“How do we grow healthy self-confidence? …How do we heal that old pain of never being good enough or adequate enough? … (Hungry ghost stuff). …

“Self-directed neuro-plasticity ….any kind of lasting change psychologically must be your-neurotransmitters-and-.jpgthrough lasting change physically. We become less demanding of others…we can be in relationships without making it all about ourselves. … especially create changes in the nervous system and the brain that make lasting learning… neurons that fire together wire together… help the experience leave a lasting physical experience behind to provide a memory that fuels our desirable behavior change.  …We become active agents of our own process of healing and transformation … Have the experience and enjoy it—really enjoy it—help those neurons form physical structures of brainwave patterns.  Stay with a positive experience for a few breaths to help it solidify in your brain. … somatic experiences—body sensations help us retain the benefits of the experience.  It is a rewarded feeling—we are being positively reinforced about our experience and it releases dopamine and serotonin in the brain.  Those ‘feel good’ chemicals released into our bloodstream that helps us feel good about ourselves.  …

“When we feel our worth, it represents something that we feel is true. We recognize it as a positive experience—we feel good about it. See it—feel it—internalize it. …

“Four major sources of self-worth (or self-confidence)—how you fill yourself up to feel good about yourself despite what others might think about you:

  • The 1st is to feel ‘cared about or caring’, …authentic experiences of warm-heartedness or altruistic love.index.jpg
  • 2nd is recognizing your own good qualities—natural talents, disciplined, hard-worker, perseverer, etc.
  • 3rd is experiencing and recognizing your true nature deep down—wakefulness, goodness, lovingness, Buddha-nature, childlike innocence, delight in existing, good wishes toward others, wishing to help others,
  • 4th is forgiving yourself, …self-compassion, healing shame, letting go of criticism, pardoning yourself but taking accurate responsibility for your actions and then moving forward in positive ways toward a better way of being.” ….

***

Jeffery: “How does this process soften narcissistic tendencies?”

Rick:  “I’ve seen when people do this simple receiving practice of filling themselves with love and positive experience, they feel ‘more full’ inside, it lessens their craving for unmet needs, and tames craving of needing the opinions and acceptance of others.  They feel less a sense of deficit—of something missing because that person has then learned how to self-fulfill themselves with positive feelings of true self-worth. …”

Jeffery:  “…so you don’t have to reduce narcissistic tendencies, you simply have to build a greater sense of true self-worth?”

Rick:  “With therapeutic help and cultivating a larger shift in perspective, it helps to regulate the ‘need factor’ of how we tend to use others for fulfilling own sense of worth.”

***

Okay. That is my quick-take of Rick Hanson’s presentation and his professional opinions as a practicing psychologist and a therapist, and to some degree I assume his techniques may be successful with those who have milder narcissistic tendencies, but with those who are severely narcissistic and primarily self-focused, I just can’t imagine that this treatment is truly and lastingly effective.  But again, that is just my opinion, and what do I know anyway. … 🙂

But I do agree with giving a child a healthy sense of self-worth, and in defining what the difference is between narcissism and actually creating a healthy sense of self-worth.

***

To that end I could more easily agree with Dr. Kristin Neff who was also offered on the page, on the ‘difference between self-esteem and self compassion’ and the importance of standing up for oneself against a malignant narcissist.

How to Create Order from Disorder—Feeling the ELEPHANT

This morning I saw a Facebook post of a video clip of Dr. Joe and his LondonReal interview on how to change yourself and the world for the better. It’s called joeunlockmindpiuc.jpg“UNLOCKING THE HUMAN MIND: How to Rewrite Your Story “  ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Krrd3AwwLqU )  It’s worth a listen.  (Just click thru the ads to get to it.)

Also this morning Alberto Villoldo villaldobloghealingfisrt45.jpgput out his blog post of a personal healing story that was his primary initiatory healing experience in Peruvian shamanism, called:  “TASTING PEACE: MY FIRST EXPERIENCE WITH ENERGY HEALING”

While both are quite different in content, they both allude to the ability to change our situations and ourselves by shifting our focus from the material world’s limitations and set patterns of belief into Source’s quantum energy field that both initially creates and then sustains us, because everything that we experience in this life is all about ENERGY and how we exist in our purest state—which is simply as ENERGY itself.

Both viewing options offer interesting perspectives, and both shed light on a subject that for some might be a little hard to fathom, yet it is the basis for life as ‘we know it,’ and as we have ‘yet to know it’.

Whether alive or dead to this physical world, we are still energy units and will always remain as energy units. That energy part of us continues on into infinity because energy never ceases to exist, it simply transforms into other uses for it.

quantumenergyfield.jpg

During this life experience our conscious awareness expands and transforms as we ‘grow it’; and upon our passing from the earth that grown consciousness then uploads to the Greater Source Consciousness.  We are all continually expanding the Greater Source Consciousness—which some would say is simply Source (GOD) exploring itself.

From my personal perspective, I’ve spent the last twenty years as an energy worker of some sort, whether in REIKI or Shamanism or even in hypnosis (because to better understand the subconscious mind is to delve into the ocean of energies where it exists in a myriad of forms).

With each discipline learned, I gained a different perspective on energy healing that allowed me to, as the old parable stated, “describe the ELEPHANT by a committee of 6543blindmenandelephantblind-men”.  If you are unfamiliar with that parable, here is a brief summary: To one blind-person standing at the rear of the beast, the elephant was like a rope because he held the tail. To another blind-person at the front, the elephant was like a coiling snake because he held the moving trunk. To yet another it was a huge boulder (the side), or a large tree trunk (the leg).

In effect, to each blind-person the elephant was something limited in scope and understanding—each part relatable only to that in which they were touch-familiar.  Because they were all blind, no one person by themselves could see the total picture of ELEPHANT because each one was limited to what part they could actually feel before them.

Source energy—the quantum field as it is often called, has presented itself to me over the years like I was one of those blind-people describing that enormous, unfathomable elephant.  REIKI described it one way. Shamanism described it another way, and hypnosis yet a different way.  All healing modalities were effective in how they explored the subject, but none had the total picture of how all those differing techniques actually functioned within the quantum field itself and transformed the unharmonious situations with a client.

Because I’m an ‘I want to know the BIG PICTURE’ type of person, I think this ‘blind-persons’ committee’ is still out on how Greater Source Energy (GOD) or the Quantum Energy Field actually works.

But I did conclude that after twenty years in energy work I now better understand the amazing energy healing powers of REIKI by learning a different perspective on energy jamesorschmanquoteenergy43.jpgwork from shamanic healing. Just as I better understand now how shamanic healing can be so effective in some instances after learning the theories and techniques of hypnosis.  In fact to me, it seemed easier and more client-empowered to do things like soul-retrieval and past-life healing using hypnosis, rather than shamanism where I went from being the “healer” in those shamanic-client situations, to simply creating the healing environment for the client to heal themselves using hypnosis.

So to ‘still-inquiring’ me with various forms of energy healing under my belt, the Quantum Energy Field is the same ELEPHANT that you’re feeling around on no matter where you stand, it’s just from one location I’m holding the ELEPHANT’S tail, and the other location I’m holding the trunk.

But no matter what I’m doing in energy work, I still want to see the BIGGER PICTURE—I want to see THE ENTIRE ELEPHANT itself and understand WHY it is standing there so prominently in front of me.  And most importantly, I want to know how best I can utilize ITS presence, because that subject pertains to my inquiries into the nature of reality and the nature of consciousness.  What the heck IS that ELEPHANT? What makes that ELEPHANT what it is?

But back to the video/post shown above, both Dr. Joe and Alberto here are talking about using the quantum field for healing—in effect they are both feeling around on that ELEPHANT—focused in different ways, using different techniques for doing so.

It’s just a very large ELEPHANT.

Live-stream Option for Dr. Joe Event

Again, just passing along the live-stream opportunity here.  Too bad it isn’t free. ($50)

As an energy worker myself, I am encouraged to see how well he explains the energy body and how our total system functions because we tend to think only of our physical body as the instigator of all our illnesses and maladies; but the energy body is the animator of our being and when those main chakra energy centers are blocked or damaged in some way, it throws our physical/mental/emotional systems into complete disarray.

I’ll list the promotion info for the event and then comment again afterwards:

“An intentional thought needs an energizer, a catalyst— that energy is an elevated emotion. Heart and mind working together. Feelings and thoughts unified into a state of being. The quantum field doesn’t respond simply to our wishes—our emotional request. It doesn’t just respond to our aims— our thoughts. It only responds when those two are aligned or coherent— that is, when they are broadcasting the same signal. When we combined an elevated emotion with an open heart and conscious intention with clear thought, we signal the field to respond in amazing ways. The quantum field responds not to what we want; it responds to who we are being.

The quantum is the realm of infinite possibility. The only way you can experience this realm is with your awareness, and when you do, your consciousness is connecting to greater levels of frequencies and information.   Dr. Joe is giving you the opportunity of a lifetime to enter the quantum field as the collective consciousness of our community to create a new experience or new possibilities in your life.⁣⁣

You can join our upcoming live stream where Dr. Joe will be breaking down The Formula to change your life radically the live stream is taking place on July 27th at 10am pst (unlimited viewing for 30 days)  ($50 cost)  The main reason we are taking portions of our advanced retreats and turning them into a live stream format is that you, the community, have requested it.⁣⁣

I found this particular testimonial from his workshops was excellent in terms of how a woman worked through the energy release of healing her childhood sexual abuse.   It offers excellent explanations of the chakra energy centers releasing shame/guilt/terror energy blockages and then reopening and realigning the energy centers, and how that physically and emotionally affects us.  Joe explained it more thoroughly as she spoke including physical ramifications of blockages and reopenings.

But honestly I must say that the testimonial prior to that one did make me cringe (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IuvELXutkf0 )  with his hands-y approach to the young woman, and watching her facial discomfort with his wrapping around her from behind and his hand on her chest area (heart chakra location—heart, lungs, bronchial areas because she previously suffered from debilitating asthma).  I do think that was inappropriate and I will call him out on that.  I know what he was saying and doing energy-wise about using his own energetic heart opening behind her to encourage her heart to burst open, but still….the manner in which he demonstrated the heart-opening effect on her was highly inappropriate. And yes, that did adversely taint my opinion of his teaching techniques so we’ll see where it goes from here.

So form your own opinions on the content and benefits of what he is describing.

What Do You Want In Life?

It’s one of those days when Ionestrangerock234.jpg simply let the Universe present me with whatever I feel needs to be mentioned at this moment.  I was originally just going to highlight an outstanding National Geographic documentary on Netflix called One Strange Rock.

(See the trailer here: https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=one+strange+rock+netflix&view=detail&mid=B8CF815A849FCE482960B8CF815A849FCE482960&FORM=VIRE ).

It is narrated by Will Smith along with numerous astronauts whose perspectives on our beautiful, blue planet were drastically shifted once they were in space. Their insights are truly mind-blowing.

The cinematography is absolutely astounding in this series–you could watch it for that alone; and the astronaut’s explanations on the Earth’s interconnected ecosystems and biosphere may radically affect how you view the Earth as well.  Life is a question of balancecarefully controlled balance of all interacting ecosystems—from the long-traveling sands of the Sahara to the Amazon rain forest’s biodiversity to the living ocean’s diatoms to icy glaciers breaking off and falling back into the sea. Pretty amazing how this planet’s life sequence unfolds.

Then of course I open Facebook to today’s installation on philosophical thought from a few of my favorites and I had to mention their posts:

Dr Joe Dispenza – OFFICIAL NEWS & FAN PAGE

drjoewhatyouwantfromlifeWhat do you want in life? Take the time to answer the question.

As you begin to contemplate and think about the answer to the question, you’re changing your brain. When you make your brain fire in new sequences and new patterns and new combinations, that’s the beginning steps of changing your mind.

Decide on the emotions you’ll feel when you’ll begin to create that future. Teach your body emotionally what that future’s going to feel like. Don’t get up until you begin to feel those emotions. You have to decide what emotions no longer belong in your future. That means if you want to be wealthy, you can’t take lack. If you want to be healthy, you can’t take insecurity or fear. You got to begin to condition your body to a new mind. If you do this every single day, your personality creates your personal reality, and your personality is made of how you think, how you act, and how you feel.”  Dr. Joe Dispenza

Pure Consciousness

The concept of pure consciousness is a hard one to fathom because we are beings of limited consciousness trying to make sense of something that exists far beyond our normal operating capabilities.rainbowgeometryvessel.jpg

When Joe is saying that if you take your mind off everything that you think you know or think that you are, and simply stop thinking in general and simply BE in the moment—NOT thinking, NOT doing, just sitting quietly and breathing in and breathing out—allowing your senses to cease inputting the nuances of your environment to the ‘awake mind’ that interprets sensory data; then in that momentary silence and stillness you can actually tap (or merge) into the realm of pure consciousness that you really are—an energy molecule connected to and riding the frequency waves of the quantum field.

He explains a bit below on the Facebook link shown; and I know that what he is offering here is not free, but at least I can share the info and opportunity with anyone further interested in what he might be offering.

I do believe that the more we consider the possibilities of our true nature (pure energy), the faster we comprehend how “changeable” our lives and our world really are.  Of anything that he teaches, he does stress that changability aspect—that the world we create is of our own making, so we have to change our way of viewing ourselves interacting with our world and with each other, to make this a better life for everyone, including for ourselves.

“If you took your attention off of your body, your life, your identity, the thing things you own, the people you know, the places you go, and the concept of time, the only thing you’d be left with is pure consciousness. That means you’d be disinvesting your attention and energy out of this 3D reality and placing it on this immaterial realm called the quantum field—a place in which only energy, light, and information exists as frequency. And if where you place your attention is where you place your energy, and if you place all of your attention on this invisible field of energy that can’t be experienced with your senses—only with your awareness (or consciousness)—then you would be investing your attention and energy into the field. This is the realm that gives birth to matter. But how does matter take form?⁣⁣

joequantumfieldquote789

“If you stripped an atom down to its raw essentials, all that exists is energy and information, but the atom is not without design. Even at that quantum level, there within exists a structure and orderliness, so there must be some intelligence or force that is unifying and ordering them. The question then is—if you could get beyond your body, beyond the people in your life, the things you own, the places you visit, and time itself—if you took your attention off of everything material, could you connect to this energy? And if you could connect with this more organized, more coherent energy, would it not bring more organized and coherent energy into your body and life, both internally and externally?”   Dr. Joe Dispenza⁣

The Heart as Tuning Dial

What I’ve noticed lately is that whether or not I am in a good mood or a less-than-good mood depends solely on where I hold my thoughts.  As an energy practitioner, I know a number of ways to raise my frequency (my vibration) so that when life around me seems a little too distracting or even disheartening, I know that I have a choice in how I react to that initial feeling, and I have a choice in what I actually do about it.  First and foremost—every moment is a choice for us.

I want to stress this again: Every moment is a choice in how we respond to it.

nassimquotetuningdialheart6.jpg

We can choose to simply accept whatever is negatively affecting us and drop into some grumpy funk, or we can choose to shift our own mood higher because we control our thoughts and our emotions.

While we tend to think of ourselves as passive receivers of life’s blessings and curses, what we don’t seem to understand is that much of what we are experiencing is because we are actively calling those like-resonating frequencies to us to address them in some way—whether to heal a long-buried, still-simmering, childhood resentment or to possibly heal a recurring and unpleasant interaction with another person that we keep trying to avoid—like family members or once-close friends.

Until we harmoniously address those still unresolved energy-dissonance issues, they will keep returning to us for yet another chance to do so.  (Remember, you don’t forgive the mistakes of others so that THEY can move on—you forgive them so YOU can move on with your life—otherwise those recurring disruptive energies are still taking up too much brain-space in your head.)

Sometimes these festering unpleasant thoughts that invade our minds and cloud our better intentions are externally triggered by forces we can’t foresee.  Right now for whatever reason, be it excess gamma radiation from the sun, or ancestral karma rising to the surface for proper release, or just everyone’s current state of undeniable craziness due to constant chaos in our world, all of us are experiencing  deep psychological tremors shaking within us that can make us question our mental stability. There’s lots of unpleasant “STUFF” rising to the surface now for re-examination and release.

And if you know exactly what I’m referring to, don’t despair. We’re all feeling it.

But what I most want you to know is that you do have a choice in the matter of how you allow those inner disruptions to affect you.

whatwethinkwebecomebuddha.png

As Nassim Haramein and Dr. Joe Dispenza both remind us here, you can change your personal vibration simply by focusing your thoughts and emotions to where you want them to be. And the more you hold the higher frequencies of love and compassion in your heart, the more likely you are to attract those very frequencies from others around you.  This isn’t woo-woo talking—it’s physics.  The frequency you hold in your energy field is what you attract—it’s called the Law of Attraction.

If your present thoughts are heavy with sadness or grief, then yes, please do examine the possible reason for those powerful, lower-frequency feelings, but then shift your thoughts to where you want them to be—to a happier time, to a loving moment, to a better tomorrow where your life feels good and you are supremely happy with lots of love and full support from your environment.

As odd as this sounds, lifting your thoughts to a higher place and bringing your emotions (heart-felt) to that same level of higher resonance (love frequency), naturally shifts your personal energy-field vibration higher and you attract more loving, like-vibration people and situations to you.

Try it for yourself.

“A Visualization from Nassim Haramein: Consider your own body being made mostly of space. Close your eyes and experience the space that you’re made of and the space around you vibrating like a crystal. Then imagine that the rate of vibration of your biocrystal structure in the structure of the vacuum is equivalent to the information pouring in and out of you, in the same way that a crystal radio set tuned to a certain frequency allows you to hear a specific radio station. In the body, if the brain is the antennae of the radio set, the tuning dial is the heart, which defines the frequency of information received through the fluid dynamics rhythm of your body, and which can be altered by your emotional state.”

The Quantum Field

“Based on my knowledge and experience, I believe there’s a self-organizing intelligence that is energy, and it is observing all the universes joequantum field quotr.jpg and galaxies into order. Sometimes people say to me that this idea seems a bit unscientific. I always answer with the same question: What happens after an explosion-order or disorder? Their answer is always that that disorder results. Then I ask: so why after the Big Bang, which was the biggest explosion ever, has so much order been created? Some intelligence must be organizing its energy and matter into form and unifying all the forces of nature to create such a masterpiece. The intelligence, the energy, is the quantum or unified field.”  Dr. Joe Dispenza

“The materialistic consciousness of our culture is the root cause of the global crisis.. Our whole civilization is unsustainable. And the reason that it is unsustainable is that our value system, the consciousness with which we approach the world, is an unsustainable mode of consciousness.” —Peter Russell

ionsconsciousnesstransformationmodel

“Both individuals and the western ‘financial success driven’ society as a whole seem to find themselves in a situation described by Joseph Campbell as “getting to the top of the ladder and finding that it stands against the wrong wall…” Our very nature is far more caring, loving, and empathic than we have been educated to believe.” —Daniel Christian Wahl

“Csikszentmihalyi believes that the next big evolutionary change in human consciousness may simultaneously acknowledge the self as separate from and fundamentally interconnected with the complexity from which it emerges. The individual, its culture, and the natural environment are simultaneously differentiated from each other and united into a larger complexity.”

“We are at the cusp, I believe, of an epic shift into a climax global economy and a fundamental repositioning of human life on the planet. The ‘Age of Reason’ is being eclipsed by the ‘Age of Empathy’. The most important question facing humanity is this: Can we reach global empathy in time to avoid the collapse of civilization and save the Earth?

“The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes … but in having new eyes” – Marcel Proust

Join Nassim Haramein and an international team of Resonance Science researchers on this voyage of discovery. The Resonance Science Foundation team invites you to explore and engage with us as a whole new phase of our growth and service in the world begins with a new website at a new domain:

resonancescience.org

“The name of the Foundation comes from our fundamental concept of resonance, a physics term in which energy (in the form of waves or vibrations) both reflects from and causes other objects to take on the same energy. For example, if you hit a large gong, other similarly resonant objects will also pick up that energy and start to ring. Similarly, if we resonate in our beliefs together, we will each share and grow that energy. And taking the concept even deeper, unified science shows that the concept of resonance is intertwined throughout our entire universe, and that these interconnections can be harnessed to uplift humanity, our planet and our universe.”
